Miyashita Park Partners is the designated manager of Shibuya Ward Miyashita Park located in MIYASHITA PARK.
We manage and operate the park as an attractive park by providing a safe and secure park environment and creating a lively atmosphere through total management, including maintenance of green areas and facilities, and planning and attracting events.
This time we talked about the SPACER lockers installed here.

What kind of facility is Shibuya Miyashita Park?

Shibuya Ward Miyashita Park opened on July 28, 2020.
On the south side, in addition to the skating rink and bouldering wall that have been popular for a long time, a new multi-purpose exercise facility (sand court specifications) has been built to provide a place where everyone can casually enjoy sports and socialize.
On the north side of the park, there is an approximately 1,000 ㎡ lawn area where visitors can relax and various events can be held.
*Lockers are located on the walkway leading from Shibuya Station to the south entrance of Shibuya Miyashita Park.

What is the background of your decision to introduce lockers?

With Shibuya Station nearby and hotels in the area, the location attracts many domestic and international visitors for sightseeing.
Therefore, we considered installing lockers to meet the demand for storage of carry-on cases and baggage.

SPACER Locker was introduced to us by our group company "Seibu Railway".

Did you consider several companies when introducing the system?
What were your reasons for choosing SPACER among them?

During the consideration phase, we had about two or three companies on our shortlist.
We ultimately chose SPACER lockers because they allow us to see when and which doors have been used.
In addition, the application registration (phone number authentication) is required for use, which deters suspicious items from entering the warehouse.
Another deciding factor in the operation was the fact that it supports cashless payment.

You mentioned that one of the deciding factors was the ability to accept cashless payments.

The entire facility is promoting the cashless system, which was attractive because it benefits both users and businesses.
Users: Available without cash
Businesses: No more periodic cash collections

What is the reason for the current fee setting? (Large size: 600 yen / Small size: 300 yen)

The price was set based on the market price of lockers around Shibuya station.

SPACER Locker offers flexibility in terms of hourly billing amounts and maximum charges.
e.g.) 200 yen for every 3 hours / 600 yen maximum charge

The wrapping design is distinctive, what made you decide on this design?

As the park is located within MIYASHITA PARK, the logo will be designed with the image of MIYASHITA PARK.

What changes or benefits have you seen since the introduction of the SPACER locker?

Since lockers require application registration to use, the usage method seemed confusing at the time of introduction, but the number of users is increasing as people become more aware of the program, making it a highly profitable voluntary program.
